By using this website (the “Site”) you agree to the collection and use of your personal data as described here. It explains what we collect, why, and the rights you have over it.
What we collect
- Contact and booking forms: your name, organization, email address, event details and message — only what you type into the form.
- Email lists: your email address and, optionally, first name, when you join the book waitlist, request the free chapter, subscribe to updates, or ask for podcast episode alerts. Each list is opted into separately with an explicit consent box.
- Technical data: anonymized, aggregated page-view analytics via Vercel Analytics. It uses no cookies and does not identify you.
We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party marketing tags. Embedded YouTube players are loaded in privacy-enhanced mode and only set cookies if you play a video.
How we use it
- To reply to your inquiry and, if you book Shane, to deliver the engagement.
- To send the emails you asked for — waitlist updates, the free chapter, or the occasional note. You can unsubscribe from any list at any time using the link in every email.
- To understand which pages are useful, in aggregate.
Where it goes
Form submissions are stored in our own private storage first, then forwarded to our email provider so we can reply and manage lists. Podcast audio is streamed from the show’s host, which counts plays. We do not sell or rent personal data.
How long we keep it
Inquiries are kept for as long as needed to respond and, where an engagement follows, for our business records. List subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. You can ask us to delete your data at any time.
Your rights
- Access a copy of your personal data.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Ask us to delete your data, subject to legal or contractual limits.
- Object to or restrict processing, and withdraw consent for marketing at any time.
- Receive your data in a portable format.
To exercise any of these, use the contact page. We respond within the legally required timeframe. If you believe your data has been mishandled you may also complain to your local data-protection authority.

This Site links to other websites, including podcast platforms and A Great Idea. Their privacy practices are their own; review their policies before sharing personal data with them.

We may update this policy as the Site changes. The date at the top tells you when it was last reviewed.
